Andy Martin campaign releases “march” photograph

(LANCASTER, NH)(September 1, 2011) “Granite tough” Republican Presidential Candidate Andy Martin’s “historic” march across New Hampshire’s highways highlights his opposition to the Northern Pass high voltage transmission line proposal. Northern Pass would cut New Hampshire in half, undermine property values and depress local tourism. Andy has marched further and engaged New Hampshire citizens longer than any presidential candidate in history.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

ATTENTION DAYBOOK/ASSIGNMENT EDITORS

ANNOUNCEMENT OF PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN NEWS CONFERENCE IN CONCORD, NEW HAMPSHIRE

ANNOUNCEMENT OF PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE “MARCH INTO MOULTONBOROUGH”

Andy Martin says his Granite State family ties make him New Hampshire’s “Favorite Son” candidate in the presidential primary

Martin says he has earned the status of New Hampshire’s Favorite Son by fighting to save more New Hampshire jobs than the governor in 2011, and by fighting to protect New Hampshire’s clean air and clean water, while Governor John lynch takes a “pass” on Northern Pass

(CONCORD, NH)(August 24, 2011) In a dramatic example of how nimble a campaigner he has become in the Republican Party’s 2012 New Hampshire presidential primary, Independent Republican Presidential Candidate Andy Martin will hold a news conference in Concord, NH on Wednesday, August 24th to formally claim the status as the Granite State’s Favorite Son candidate in the 2012 Republican Party presidential primary.

“One of the ways my campaign is different than those of my competing ‘small government’ presidential candidates is that I actually study the primary electorate from state-to-state and work to understand local concerns. We just don’t come into a state in private jets and limos and drive around to host fund raising parties at the homes of rich people. I am concerned with local businesses and working families. I am the only candidate who really knows New Hampshire from the ground up because I spent a lot of time here as a child.

“My mother was born in Manchester; my grandparents are buried in Manchester. I spent summers at the shore and lakes and was back and forth for family events.

“But I am not claiming Favorite Son status merely on the basis of parentage. I have earned the title. This year I have fought to save more New Hampshire jobs than Governor John Lynch. In a few hours I am preparing to break one of the biggest corruption scandals in New Hampshire history with a Friday news conference in Colebrook. I have already notified the FBI to expect my materials and analysis. If my facts prove out, Governor Lynch has a serious problem; likewise Attorney General Delaney.

“Turning from political corruption to corporate arrogance, the Northern Pass project is being imposed on the people of New Hampshire by outside interests.

“I have a history of fighting abusive power line plans. In the 1970’s I filed a NEPA lawsuit to block a power line proposed by Illinois Power near the runway approach to the University of IllinoisWillard Airport. The power line was cancelled.

“None of the other Republican presidential candidates has an actual track record of protecting the environment and standing up to ‘power brokers.’ On the contrary, most of them have proven they are servants of corporations and lobbyists. Despite the fact that the EPA was created by a Republican President, Richard Nixon, my own party does not have a strong record of fighting to protect the environment in recent years. I do. While I like to style myself as a ‘Reagan’ successor, when it comes to the environment I am Teddy Roosevelt all-the-way.

“Later Wednesday afternoon I will also be marching into Moultonborough to attend a public forum on the Northern Pass controversy. I am there to listen and learn what people have to say.

“My ‘Operation Walk the Line,’ a Long March against Northern Pass, will continue Thursday, Friday and Saturday. All are invited to join me on bikes or on foot. My march has kept attention continuously focused on the Northern Pass dispute. I will continue to march against Northern Pass as time and resources permit.

“This week we start to march in Columbia (making up for our rain day two weeks ago) on Thursday morning (on bikes) and then march into Groveton (Friday morning, on foot) and into Lancaster (Saturday morning, on foot).

“No other presidential campaign is as well organized as mine. We are advertising on TV and radio with anti-Northern Pass ads (the radio and TV ads can also be seen on my web site). Some of the other presidential candidates are quitting or their supporters and employees are quitting; we keep moving on up.

“I told Jack Kimball my presidential campaign would have more staying power than his chairmanship; I am about to accomplish that promise when Kimball is removed. Kimball has already debauched the New Hampshire GOP and himself by his behavior as chairman.”

By this weekend Andy will have marched on foot and biked approximately fifty (50) miles in his statewide march against Northern Pass. Martin plans a Friday news conference in Colebrook (TBA), where he will also attend the Moose Festival. Andy will hold a news conference in downtown Lancaster Saturday morning as he marches into Lancaster. The public is invited to attend any of Andy’s events.

State Rep Larry Rappaport keynotes anti-Northern pass breakfast Saturday morning

“Balsams” victory confirms Andy Martin’s status as New Hampshire’s “Favorite Son” in the 2012 presidential primary

(COLEBROOK, NH)(August 13, 2011) State Representative Larry Rappaport will be the keynote speaker at a Dutch Treat breakfast at Howard’s Restaurant in Colebrook, NH Saturday morning (8/13).

After the breakfast Independent Republican Presidential Candidate Andy Martin will resume his statewide march against Northern Pass, a proposed high voltage transmission line that would cut New Hampshire in half to deliver electricity from Hydro-Quebec.

The breakfast is from 7:30-8:30 A.M; Martin plans to resume walking around 9:00 A.M. at the spot where he left off on Main Street in Colebrook when the first phase of his march ended. He has already walked twenty miles to protest the Northern Pass proposal.

Martin is in the North Country after scoring a surprise victory for local residents: Wednesday August 10th Martin filed an emergency petition with the New Hampshire Supreme Court to block the proposed sale of The Balsams, a historic resort hotel at Dixville Notch. The following day, August 11th, the buyer, Ocean Properties, cancelled the hotel purchase. “Joshua blew his trumpet and the walls of Jericho came tumbling down,” Martin says. “I sounded a trumpet at the New Hampshire Supreme Court and The Balsams sale collapsed.

“In July I promised to fight to ‘Save The Balsams.’ I performed. No other presidential can make a similar performance claim.”

Martin says Tillotson trustees are looking after themselves and not the intended beneficiaries of Neil Tillotson’s will. He plans to seek removal of the trustees. “Why were Governor John Lynch and Attorney General Michael Delaney silent in the face of obvious corruption?” Martin demands. “Ocean Properties promised one course of action to secure regulatory approval and then adopted exactly the opposite approach after obtaining the Attorney General's permission to buy the landmark hotel. Ocean Properties lied to state officials,” says Martin. “That’s the core of my complaint. The integrity of New Hampshire state government was compromised.

“Whose interests is the Governor serving? Was the ‘fix’ in for Ocean Properties? Well, I ‘unfixed’ the dirty dealing and saved the hotel and its hundreds of jobs.

“Obviously the Governor and Attorney General knew the sale could not stand scrutiny by the NH Supreme Court.

“The local response to my surprise victory has been overwhelmingly positive. People have thanked me for saving their jobs in an area of the state that desperately needs to maintain employment.

“I plan to fight with the same ‘energy’ on behalf of opponents of Northern Pass, helping them to defeat a high voltage transmission line that would destroy their property values and devastate their way of life. I am literally ‘walking the walk’ against Northern Pass.

Martin is New Hampshire’s “Favorite Son” candidate in the 2012 presidential primary election. His campaign in the 2012 presidential primary is openly partisan; his efforts on behalf of the people of New Hampshire are completely nonpartisan.

Martin is boycotting the Iowa presidential caucuses because Iowa Republicans do not allow military personnel on active duty to participate in the caucuses from their duty stations. He is preparing to take action to protect the constitutional rights of Iowa men and women in uniform to participate in the caucuses.

Republican Presidential Candidate Andy Martin reports on Northern Pass

Re: A progress report concerning my opposition to Northern Pass

Dear Opponent of Northern Pass:[1]

I am pleased and proud to provide this progress report on my efforts to fight Northern Pass.

Last Sunday I completed the first phase of my statewide march against Northern Pass. We marched for twenty miles over two days, luckily with no blisters and no sunburn. I give thanks to my campaign team; they did a better job of preparing me for a march in the sun than I would have done on my own.

We are planning to resume the march where we left off, in front of Howard’s Restaurant in Colebrook, heading south on Route 3. Stay tuned for updated information on march dates.

This week we start a new radio advertising campaign against Northern Pass, as well as continuing our TV ads against the project.

Many people who are Northern Pass opponents have never been involved in a “political” battle before. Yes, opposing Northern Pass is a “political” matter. Corporate power seeks the path of least resistance. Big corporations try to trample people who have the least political power. That’s the way government works. Lawyers and lobbyists seek to influence public officials to favor their clients; why else would they be paid?

My presidential campaign has put the Northern Pass controversy on the 2012 presidential primary agenda. Opponents of Northern Pass now have a means of balancing the scales of government in their favor. You can support my efforts to block the project.

Maybe that’s why just hours after the first phase of my march ended, Northern Pass announced they were going to further delay announcing a final route. It appears they will try to delay until after the presidential primary.

I hope you will spread the word about our efforts so that as we continue our march down the state others can join us in their local communities. To be effective and have an impact, opponents cannot make just a one day or a one week or a one month effort. Big corporations have a long-term perspective. Opponents have to have a similar perspective, which is why I am walking week after week and month after month.

We are being taken very seriously by the opposition. In June I received the following email:

Subject: Northern Pass

Date: 6/29/2011 1:35:32 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time

From: sethboudreaux@hotmail.com

Mr Martin:

I am 100% behind your campaign for President! I'm hoping that you can make the
Northern Pass an issue in the 2012 NH Primary! I have heard that President Obama is against the Northern Pass because he is a Muslim and wants us to keep buying oil from his "relatives" over in the Middle East. Is this true?
I would think that Obama would support the
Northern Pass because he supports giving all of our authority to the UN so they can establish a North American Energy plan that invloves annexing lands for hydro-transmission lines. Thoughts? Let me know when you'll be in the state next and we can go campaigning!

-SB

Our counterintelligence algorithms flagged Boudreaux’s email as suspicious. And our counterintelligence was correct (we’ve been doing this in one form or another for decades). Recently Mr. Boudreaux started sending out emails attacking me. Mr. Boudreaux is on the payroll of Northern Pass. Northern Pass’ law firm is led by a leading Barack Obama supporter. Obama & Co. have been attacking me for years for disclosing embarrassing facts about President Obama. They are very worried about my presidential campaign, and they are obviously concerned by my campaign’s efforts in New Hampshire fighting Northern Pass.

Liberals may not like me; but they respect my experience and ability to fight for ordinary citizens.

President Obama’s dirty tricks operatives tried to block publication of my book on Obama. When I went to Hawai’i to interview Obama’s grandmother, he followed. Obama’s people even created a bogus biography about me. Robert Gibbs, one of Obama’s senior advisers, was/is the go-to guy for the dirty tricks activity against me. That’s politics.

If Northern Pass officials are worried by my opposition to Northern Pass, that you should tell you something about the effect we are having. If you get any more dirty emails from Boudreaux, ask him to disclose who is buying his groceries. You won’t be surprised by the answer. In any event, I am flattered by Obama and Northern Pass’ dirty tricks. They must be worried. [Full disclosure: we are reporting Boudreau to the FBI for possible criminal activity.]

It’s amazing what an honest man who is a presidential candidate can do to fight corporate abuses. I’m a conservative Republican, but a different kind of a conservative Republican than the rumdums I am running against. I work for you, not wall Street or K Street.

Bottom line: I’m very happy with our progress fighting Northern Pass and I hope you are too. See what you can do to help us. As soon as possible, we’ll be “On the Road Again.”

Best wishes,

ANDY
