ANNOUNCEMENT OF PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN NEWS CONFERENCE IN CONCORD, NEW HAMPSHIRE
ANNOUNCEMENT OF PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE “MARCH INTO MOULTONBOROUGH”
Andy Martin says his Granite State family ties make him New Hampshire’s “Favorite Son” candidate in the presidential primary
Martin says he has earned the status of New Hampshire’s Favorite Son by fighting to save more New Hampshire jobs than the governor in 2011, and by fighting to protect New Hampshire’s clean air and clean water, while Governor John lynch takes a “pass” on Northern Pass
(CONCORD, NH)(August 24, 2011) In a dramatic example of how nimble a campaigner he has become in the Republican Party’s 2012 New Hampshire presidential primary, Independent Republican Presidential Candidate Andy Martin will hold a news conference in Concord, NH on Wednesday, August 24th to formally claim the status as the Granite State’s Favorite Son candidate in the 2012 Republican Party presidential primary.
“One of the ways my campaign is different than those of my competing ‘small government’ presidential candidates is that I actually study the primary electorate from state-to-state and work to understand local concerns. We just don’t come into a state in private jets and limos and drive around to host fund raising parties at the homes of rich people. I am concerned with local businesses and working families. I am the only candidate who really knows New Hampshire from the ground up because I spent a lot of time here as a child.
“My mother was born in Manchester; my grandparents are buried in Manchester. I spent summers at the shore and lakes and was back and forth for family events.
“But I am not claiming Favorite Son status merely on the basis of parentage. I have earned the title. This year I have fought to save more New Hampshire jobs than Governor John Lynch. In a few hours I am preparing to break one of the biggest corruption scandals in New Hampshire history with a Friday news conference in Colebrook. I have already notified the FBI to expect my materials and analysis. If my facts prove out, Governor Lynch has a serious problem; likewise Attorney General Delaney.
“Turning from political corruption to corporate arrogance, the Northern Pass project is being imposed on the people of New Hampshire by outside interests.
“I have a history of fighting abusive power line plans. In the 1970’s I filed a NEPA lawsuit to block a power line proposed by Illinois Power near the runway approach to the University of Illinois’ Willard Airport. The power line was cancelled.
“None of the other Republican presidential candidates has an actual track record of protecting the environment and standing up to ‘power brokers.’ On the contrary, most of them have proven they are servants of corporations and lobbyists. Despite the fact that the EPA was created by a Republican President, Richard Nixon, my own party does not have a strong record of fighting to protect the environment in recent years. I do. While I like to style myself as a ‘Reagan’ successor, when it comes to the environment I am Teddy Roosevelt all-the-way.
“Later Wednesday afternoon I will also be marching into Moultonborough to attend a public forum on the Northern Pass controversy. I am there to listen and learn what people have to say.
“My ‘Operation Walk the Line,’ a Long March against Northern Pass, will continue Thursday, Friday and Saturday. All are invited to join me on bikes or on foot. My march has kept attention continuously focused on the Northern Pass dispute. I will continue to march against Northern Pass as time and resources permit.
“This week we start to march in Columbia (making up for our rain day two weeks ago) on Thursday morning (on bikes) and then march into Groveton (Friday morning, on foot) and into Lancaster (Saturday morning, on foot).
“No other presidential campaign is as well organized as mine. We are advertising on TV and radio with anti-Northern Pass ads (the radio and TV ads can also be seen on my web site). Some of the other presidential candidates are quitting or their supporters and employees are quitting; we keep moving on up.
“I told Jack Kimball my presidential campaign would have more staying power than his chairmanship; I am about to accomplish that promise when Kimball is removed. Kimball has already debauched the New Hampshire GOP and himself by his behavior as chairman.”
By this weekend Andy will have marched on foot and biked approximately fifty (50) miles in his statewide march against Northern Pass. Martin plans a Friday news conference in Colebrook (TBA), where he will also attend the Moose Festival. Andy will hold a news conference in downtown Lancaster Saturday morning as he marches into Lancaster. The public is invited to attend any of Andy’s events.
