FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

ATTENTION NATIONAL AND NEW HAMPSHIRE DAYBOOK/ASSIGNMENT EDITORS

SATURDAY ANNOUNCEMENT OF ANTI-NORTHERN PASS TOWN HALL MEETINGS AND NEWS CONFERENCES IN KEENE, LEBANON, LITTLETON, COLEBROOK AND INFORMAL VISIT TO THE BALSAMS, DIXVILLE NOTCH

Republican Presidential Candidate Andy Martin holds town meetings across New Hampshire Saturday to plan for a “Long March” across the state

Martin is currently one of a number of leaders of opposition to the Northern Pass high voltage transmission line

Martin says his movement to oppose Northern Pass opens with “true Americana” Saturday at the Central Square Common in Keene

Martin is the only Republican presidential candidate that is formally opposing Northern Pass

(KEENE, NH)(July 9, 2011) Republican Presidential Candidate Andy Martin has finally made it to New Hampshire after surviving a weather front that drenched Southern New England while leaving New Hampshire relatively unscathed. “We were forced to cancel our Friday evening meeting,” Andy says. “We were hours late arriving in New Hampshire because of horrible weather en route. There was no way to escape the thunderstorms and stalled traffic. But we’re now in Keene and ready to roll Saturday morning,” Andy notes.

"We will be available all day on our cell phone (917) 664-9329."

Martin holds town hall meetings in Keene, Lebanon, Littleton, Colebrook and ends with an informal visit to The Balsams in Dixville Notch as he makes preparations to walk across the State of New Hampshire to dramatize his opposition to the Northern Pass transmission line proposal.

Martin’s town hall meetings are nonpartisan and all are invited and welcome to participate: Republicans, Democrats, Independents and non-voters.

Martin is already running TV ads against Northern Pass on WMUR-TV (the ads can also be seen on Andy’s web site and YouTube channel, see above).

“While I am a partisan candidate in the 2012 presidential primary, saving New Hampshire’s environment is not a partisan issue,” Andy says. “I invite everyone who loves New Hampshire to join with me in fighting Northern Pass. We are a nonpartisan band of brothers and sisters committed to clean air, clean water, low taxes and limited government.

“These meetings are informal. I do not travel with an entourage. My campaign does not have a corporate jet. I am truly the people’s candidate. My opposition is based on having grown up and enjoyed New Hampshire’s environment. It is a rare privilege to have the opportunity to ‘come back’ and ‘give back’ and ‘fight back’ during the course of the 2012 presidential primary. My TV ads are the only broadcast opposition to Northern Pass. Monday we will be cutting new anti-Northern Pass radio ads in Concord. As money comes in, we can expand our broadcasting schedule.

“These meetings are the first of many we will be holding as we plan the Long March across the state to protest Northern Pass. ‘Operation Walk The Line’ will take us from west of Pittsburg, where Northern Pass was/is supposed to enter New Hampshire, down to the Exeter area.

“Next week (July 15-16) we will have yet another anti-Northern Pass event,” Martin promises.

“Operation Walk The Line” is expected to actually “start walking” in late July or early August.
